The day has finally arrived! David's 12th album HERO STREET launches today! The title track is featured on PBS in the just-released episode "Hero Street: The Last To Fall" created by FourthWallFilms.com. The Hero Street song and 9-part film series were inspired by 8 Mexican-American soldiers, their stories and their community. They exemplify courage and sacrifice. They inspire! As many of you know I like enjoy playing tennis. I've been a USTA member for a number of years and belong to the Quad Cities Tennis Club (QCTC). It's good to get out and get active.....this resonates with me! If it resonates with you and you are not a member of QCTC you can be. There are indoor/outdoor hard courts. There are 3 grass courts. (There are pickle ball courts as well.) I will be playing music as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 9 for those 3 grass courts. Very rare to see Wimbeldom-like grass courts in the Midwest! Any library! What a perfect setting for this storytelling songwriter. And what a story we have to tell....HERO STREET! Hero Street is located right there in your QC community. It's also the title track to my latest album....and the name of a 9 part film series being aired on PBS that the song is in (created by Fourth Wall Films). I will give a summary history of the HS community and the people who live on this 1.5 block long street in Silvis, IL. The show is FREE and will last for an hour. I haven't played this long running series for awhile. The setting is in the backyard of an old fort smack in the middle of Nebraska! There's always an appreciative crowd and when the weather cooperates you can see ALL the stars in the galaxy! All ages welcome! $5 cover if I remember right! (Kids FREE)

These performances may take the form of fundraisers for those in need, for folks with medical conditions (like Alzheimers, Parkinson's Disease, Cancer), for children's causes (like St. Jude or Boys & Girls Town), for food banks or women's shelters, or simply for people who may not be able to otherwise access the arts like skilled nursing, memory units or other senior community settings. These shows are community oriented performances and can be booked for anywhere in the US....or even virtually. I don't usually play Farmers Market gigs but there are a couple of exceptions. Greeley is one of them. I like this one because the view of the mountains combined with the pine scented morning air is hard to turn down. Mix in a little Kettle-Korn and fresh-baked bread and...what's not to like! 9-11am MST. All ages and FREE event.

The Songwriter Sessions Series has been up and running since 2019. It's a unique listening room experience patterned after the shows held at the Bluebird Cafe/Nashville where I also perform and host shows. For this show, we're actually featuring two performers that have played the Bluebird before. All 3 of us will be on stage at the same time trading songs and stories and just generally goofing off.
